The holidays are rolling through, insomuch 2009 is also finished. Wow, Right? I hear often, “man the year has gone so fast!, or time sure flies.” It’s funny to think about the reality of these statements, when you consider a day is like a thousand days to God. Time is fast, it goes and comes, a second here, another second, another second. The reason time is hard is because we want it to be significant! Every moment. Every second should count, should make our lives better, the people around us better…but when we look up, 2009 is gone and what do we have to show for it?

degrading and ignorant,
foolish and harsh
unkempt, without thought
daggers to the heart
but clawing and climbing
the quest for daylight
with muscle to lift
and vigor to fight

darkness and lies
